چکیده مقاله:

Background: This study was conducted to evaluate the clinical outcomes of acromioclavicular joint (ACJ) fixation with hook plate (HP) and continuous loop double endobutton fixation (CLDE) in treatment of the acute acromioclavicular joint (ACJ) dislocation. Methods: In this retrospective study, 8 patients with HP and 9 patients with CLDE fixations were compared for acute ACJ dislocations. The patients were evaluated by various criteria including disabilities of the arm, shoulder and hand (DASH), American shoulder and elbow surgeons standardized shoulder assessment (ASES), UCLA shoulder rating scale, shoulder constant score, simple shoulder test (SST) and CC distance. Results: The differences between the mean VAS scores for pain, DASH, ASES, UCLA shoulder rating scale, shoulder constant and SST were statistically significant in favor of the CLDE group. The mean differences of CC distance was 8.6± 0.9mm in HP while it was 11.6±1.2 mm for CLDE; the operation time was in favor of HP fixation (51±13.3 min versus 105±9.7 min) (p Conclusion: CLDE fixation had better clinical outcomes than HP fixation; however, it was a technically demanding procedure. HP maintained the CC distance better and its application was technically easy. HP needs a second surgery for removal and development of subacromial erosion and osteoarthritis of the ACJ which can be regarded as the major concerns.

Continuous Loop Double Endobutton Reconstruction for Acromioclavicular Joint Dislocation.

BACKGROUND Current anatomic methods for reconstruction of the dislocated acromioclavicular (AC) joint show improved clinical results but continue to be associated with significant rates of fixation loss and complications, limiting more widespread use. PURPOSE To determine the long-term clinical and radiologic outcomes of a novel surgical technique using a closed-loop double Endobutton device ...

Comparison of Results between Hook Plate Fixation and Ligament Reconstruction for Acute Unstable Acromioclavicular Joint Dislocation

BACKGROUND In the present study, we aimed to compare clinical and radiographic outcomes between hook plate fixation and coracoclavicular (CC) ligament reconstruction for the treatment of acute unstable acromioclavicular (AC) joint dislocation. METHODS Forty-two patients who underwent surgery for an unstable acute dislocation of the AC joint were included. We divided them into two groups accor...

Clinical Effect of Acute Complete Acromioclavicular Joint Dislocation Treated with Micro-Movable and Anatomical Acromioclavicular Plate

OBJECTIVES We evaluated the long-term clinical results of acute complete acromioclavicular dislocations treated with micro-movable and anatomical acromioclavicular plate. METHODS Open reduction and internal fixation was performed using the MAAP in 16 patients (10 males, 6 females; mean age 36 years; range 16 to 63 years) with acute complete acromioclavicular joint dislocation. Radiographic ev...

Modified closed-loop double-endobutton technique for repair of rockwood type III acromioclavicular dislocation

Acromioclavicular dislocation (ACD) is a common injury. According to the Rockwood classification, ACD is classified into six types (type I-VI); however, for type III injuries, it remains controversial whether or not operative treatment should be applied. Numerous studies have advocated early surgical treatment to ensure early rehabilitation activities. Thus, the present study aimed to investiga...

Clavicular hook plate for grade-III acromioclavicular dislocation.

PURPOSE To review the outcomes of clavicular hook plate fixation for grade-III acromioclavicular (AC) dislocation in young athletes. METHODS Medical records of 14 male and 5 female athletes aged 18 to 49 (mean, 29) years who underwent fixation with a 3.5-mm-thick, 15-mm-long clavicular hook plate for acute grade-III AC dislocation were reviewed. The visual analogue score for pain and the Cons...
